A lot has been shared this past week that has made many people uncomfortable, with many avoiding the conversation, saying things like; this isn’t my fight, not my sector, I’ll wait to see how this plays out.

To be honest this work makes my stomach hurt. Confrontation is not something I gravitate towards but the truth is, this work has little to do with how I feel and everything to do with being an ally and anti-racist, giving voice to the minority, and ensuring our institutions and the leaders in them are held accountable.

This isn’t a he said, she said kind of thing. This is about acknowledging parts of the system are broken, ensuring we keep each other accountable, and doing the hard (and sometimes uncomfortable) work to demand all voices have an equitable seat the table.

We all know things need to change.

So together, let’s actually do something about it and demand change. One step to doing this is making sure associations like
Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Toronto Chapter are held accountable. Please sign this petition to remove AFP Toronto’s 10 Star Chapter status.
