Can we please cease and desist from making these bland, generic and carefully constructed speaking points statements about commitment to IDEA. This is laughable at this stage when there is a real life case that challenges AFPs proclamation and ‘on loop’ positing about commitment.
Let me offer a suggested next step, which should have actually done months ago by now given that the incidents were made public starting on February 14, 2023 (3 months and counting). How about launching a formal investigation of the incidents that have been brought to the attention of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Toronto Chapter (AFP-GTC) and Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global)?
Please share if legal action is stopping a formal investigation into incidents of anti-Black racism levied by three respected and highly accomplished Black fundraisers and former Black board members of AFP-GTC? Former Board members have courageously stepped forward to own and bare witness to what occurred and the role they played during the period cited. Where there is a will there is a way. Seems like AFP has no will beyond surface level platitudes in confronting anti-Black racism.
